Everything you need lives on this one page. Start below, then jump to the downloads whenever you're ready.

1 Connect your Xbox One Controller

Your MacBook Air talks to the controller over Bluetooth — no cable or dongle needed.

Put the controller into pairing mode

  1. Press the Xbox button (the glowing logo) to turn the controller on.
  2. Hold the small Pair button on the top edge, next to the charging port, for about 3 seconds until the Xbox light flashes quickly. Fast flashing means it's looking for a device.

Pair it with your Mac

  1. On the Mac, open the Apple menu System Settings.
  2. Click Bluetooth in the sidebar and make sure it's turned On.
  3. Under Nearby Devices, wait for Xbox Wireless Controller to appear, then click Connect.
  4. The Xbox light stops flashing and stays solid — you're connected. 🎮
Next time it reconnects on its own: just press the Xbox button while your Mac's Bluetooth is on. If it won't pair, plug it in briefly to charge, or hold the Xbox button 6 seconds to restart it.

2 Install Ship of Harkinian

Ship of Harkinian is the free PC port that lets Ocarina of Time run beautifully on your Mac. You already have both pieces — the installer and the game file are in the Downloads below.

Install the app

  1. From Downloads, get SoH.dmg and open it. A window pops up.
  2. Drag the soh icon into the Applications folder shortcut in that window.

Open it for the first time

  1. Open your Applications folder, Control-click (or right-click) soh, and choose Open.
  2. A security warning appears — click Done.
  3. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the soh message. Confirm with Open.

Load the game (one-time asset extraction)

  1. From Downloads, save the game file Ocarina-of-Time.z64 somewhere easy, like your Desktop.
  2. When soh first opens it asks about missing game files — click Yes, then Yes again.
  3. Pick your Ocarina-of-Time.z64 file. You'll see “Processing OTR” in the top-right corner.
  4. When it says “OTR Successfully Generated,” the game launches automatically. That extraction only happens once.
To set up your controller in-game: open the menu bar and go to Settings → Controller to map your Xbox buttons, then just press Esc anytime to open or close the menu.

Downloads

Your two files. Grab both — you'll need each one for Step 2 above.
